How long have you been in Poland? Do you like it here and is there anything that particularly surprised you in Poland?
I have been in Poland since July 2023 and yes, I like it here. Just a small detail surprised me- The duration of the classes. The organization of the day at the university isn’t the same here as it is in France, for example, here they have classes of one hour and where I am from (France), we have classes that last for 2 hours.
What made you decide to apply for the POLONEZ BIS program?
Well, because my girlfriend lives in Poland 🙂
What do you think about the recruitment procedure for the fellowship and what was the biggest challenge for you?
Yes, it was demanding and required a lot of work, as well as preparation. There was no particular challenge, but the fact that we had to write several versions of our projects: short version and long version. It can be difficult, because sometimes in the short version, we have to say more, but we have no space. It’s not a big challenge, but it takes some time to deal with it.
Taking into account your POLONEZ BIS experience so far, would you recommend it to other researchers from abroad? Why?
Definitely. I would recommend POLONEZ BIS to other researchers because it’s quite an interesting postdoc to discover the Polish research environment. You have time to do your research. You have money to travel, to invite researchers and you have comfortable research conditions. And that’s all we need to do research, I can say. So, yes, I would recommend it.
